Experienced healthcare real estate professional will lead the global, 11,000-member Commercial Real Estate Women Network beginning in 2020

Caddis executive Christine Gorham, who has more than 28 years of experience in medical operations, including 18 years in the healthcare real estate sector, has been named president-elect for 2019 and 2020 president of CREW Network.

Christine Gorham, director of its Southeast Region, has been selected president-elect for 2019 and 2020 president of the Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Network, which is dedicated to transforming the commercial real estate industry by advancing women globally.

Ms. Gorham, who has more than 28 years of experience in medical operations, including 18 years in the healthcare real estate sector, noted, “CREW Network has been in operation almost 30 years and has 11,000 members in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom with expansion plans underway. It’s an honor to be named president for 2020 and to represent that many dynamic, professional members of a very successful organization.”

“CREW Network’s industry research is very important because it’s fact-based and companies rely on it to make decisions. Our education and leadership training is highly regarded because it offers speakers from Harvard, MIT and other prominent organizations at a fraction of the cost our members would pay elsewhere.”

She added, “CREW’s networking is phenomenal. We try to attract members who are cognizant of their worth and who all have the same mission to do a great job in their career, treat people respectfully and further the commercial real estate industry.”

Wendy Mann, CREW Network chief executive officer, noted, “Christine’s leadership and business acumen will be invaluable as our president-elect and subsequently as our president. More importantly, her enthusiasm for advancing women in the industry and her commitment to diversity and inclusion are powerful assets for our organization.”

Ms. Gorham said that CREW’s major initiatives are valuable for enhancing the commercial real estate industry and advancing its members and their careers.

“CREW serves as a fantastic resource for employers to diversify their candidate pool with highly educated top-tier candidates. I am a firm believer that you don’t hire women just because they’re women, but you hire the most qualified individual,” Ms. Gorham says. “Data, including our CREW Network’s research reports, shows that creating an inclusive environment increases the bottom lines of organizations.  Successful teams are built with members who have different perspectives that challenge each other and the status quo.”

Ms. Gorham said CREW Network recently received the honor of being invited for the first time to The Real Estate Roundtable’s Board of Directors for the fiscal year July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019. The Real Estate Roundtable brings together leaders of publicly-held and privately-owned real estate ownership, development, lending and management firms with the leaders of real estate trade associations to jointly address key U.S. policy issues relating to real estate and the overall economy.

Ms. Gorham has been active with CREW since 2003, including serving as chairman of the CREW Network Foundation, the philanthropic arm of CREW; director on the board of CREW Network; president of CREW Atlanta; and a member of numerous committees. She’s also been involved with a number of other local and national organizations, including serving as director for the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors and co-chair for its Diversity Committee’s Mentor Program. She has been selected this year as one of Atlanta’s “Most Powerful Women” by BISNOW.  In 2014, BISNOW also named her one of “Atlanta’s Top 40 Most Powerful Women in Commercial Real Estate,” and the Atlanta Business Chronical added her to the list of “Who’s Who in the Top 100 Influential Leaders in Commercial Real Estate.”

Ms. Gorham joined Caddis last November. Previous positions include CEO and partner of Atlanta-based Eastwood Real Estate Services LLC, director of leasing and asset management with Chicago-based SRS Investments, and leasing and property management coordinator with Atlanta-based Northside Hospital. Ms. Gorham received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with a concentration in finance from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. She also has earned a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation.
